Flooding in Trinidad and Tobago
...being sold. But are the farmers to blame? they are not to blame because whatever is salvaged after flood waters have ravaged their garden area are the goods they have to sell, so they are forced to sell at higher than normal prices in order to reclaim the money that they have lost. Governments both past and present have unsuccessfully tried to implement achievable and realistic plans to assist the affected portion of the polpulation but to no avail. The loss just keeps growing and growing. One huge contributing factor to flooding in our twin island state is littering. Hundreds of pedestrians and driving citizens alike "decorate" our drains, sidewalks, parks and malls with garbage, refusing to put it in its designated place....the garbage bin! Clean up campaigns are initiated by several non-profit organisations who try to help to advise and warn citizens of their errant ways, but it seems as if it all falls on deaf ears!...
