How Juh-wert-a-Mah-kai and the “good mind” both wanted a light source, moon, humans, food, and water bring these stories also together. Both stories end with how the world is left today, left with good and evil, disease and death, and many different kinds of people. These gods are both proud of what they have created. In contrast both stories have many differences. According to the Iroquois, the creators were born from the “Sky Woman”, and the Pima believe “There was only a person, Juh-wert-a-Mah-kai” floating in the darkness. The main ideas of the two stories also seem to be different. One story focuses mostly on good and evil implying how good over comes all, and how the idea of heaven and hell are created. The other story focuses on the people and how the different groups came to be. The Pima stories say that it took many attempts to make the perfect person. Juh-wert-a-Mah-kai had to bring down the sky many times in order to make the people in his liking. While in the Iroquois story the good mind only made humans once.
