This policy was mainly used to keep the birth rates down and better the Chinese living. Education in china helps promote the causes of human increase and is trying to help the people to realize smaller families means higher standards of living. Since the one child policy began in the 1970's average family sizes have shrunk and continue to plummet today, but is this the right answer to human increase? The one-child policy has been blamed for a host of abuses including the killing of baby girls by couples seeking males, and also officials have been accused of ordering forced abortions and sterilizing women without their consent. It really should be of no concern to the government just how many children one wants to obtain. Yes there could be problems with the rise of human population but no global problems have yet occurred of which aren't curable. China however is not alone in the struggle to keep populations down because foreign states also quietly enforce two children families as well. Although the states do not force less than two children upon couples its highly encouraged to create smaller families. Now certain restrictions go along with having a family with more than two children. Those with more than two children will not be given government jobs, if they are already in service they will be denied promotions. People are now being denied the right to vote in elections because they have more than two-children families, however there's a problem when most of these people are very poor and illiterate living in villages which are not even aware of the rule.
