The steps we are taking to follow this experiment and receive the results we desire, are to dress normal in appearance, and present ourselves as regular customers, visitors, or students. We will be carrying a stereo and begin playing funny or up beat music that will catch peoples attention. We’ll find a place that is heavily populated and turn on the music and start to dance in strange or comedic ways to get a reaction out of people. Observations We found that people who were in the age group of 10 to 20 years of age reacted in a cheerful and positive way. They often laughed or smiled. However some made rude or offensive comments on how we were dancing or on our appearance. Ages 30-50 and 60 and beyond acted in a much more negative manner. They often just avoided us or gave us dirty looks. We were surprised to find that more people reacted at Wal-Mart than at the movie theatre to our unusual behavior. We had thought that people at Wal-Mart would have reacted less than in the movie theatre because they are trying to run errands and are in a less relaxed setting. The reaction was completely opposite to what we had hypothesized. While at Superstore we found that with the variation of age groups we had a number of different reactions. We received most of our negative feedback Superstore and more people attempted to avoid us.
