...sh and they found my mothers mobilephone in a car. And because we had been trying to call her, this was the first number they found. – Your mother is at the hospital right now, I will drive you. They said it was very critical. I am so sorry… I just looked at him with empty eyes, there was nothing I could say. The only person I had in my family was my mother. I could not let anything happened to her, I was in shock. The car trip to the hospital felt like forever. I did not say a word, nor did Sofia’s father. We came up to her room, in ward number eleven. She was not there. They said that she was in surgery. The nurses placed a bed for me in my mother’s room so I could sleep and Sofia’s father went home. I tried to sleep, but I could not. After a few hours when I had fallen asleep, totally exhausted, a man came in to me, it was the doctor. I do not know exactly what he said, the only thing I remember him saying was “I am sorry little girl, your mother did not survive…” When the doctor said those words I just ran out from there. I ran as far and as fast as I could, I ran out to nowhere. At this time I ended up out on the street, me, a 12 year old girl. I met a girl in my age, Caroline, that helped me a lot. When I opened my eyes I saw some boys standing up, kicking me in my stomach and at the same time I could hear them laughing. But something scared them off. A grown-up voice said; “Let the little girl be! Leave her alone, or I will call the police!” The boys ran away, very quickly. It was an old mans friendly voice. He came to me and I heard him call an ambulance. I did not say much, I was in such great pain I could not speak. I was scared that someone would take me from the hospital and place me with some strange family that did not know me. I was used to live out here on the street and if someone would force me inside a house, it would not be to a stranger. He sat down beside me and asked how I felt and I answered; “please do not take me to a hospital, I do not want a stranger to take care of me, I will take care of myself.” He said that it was important to get real help because he did not know how serious the injuries were. He said I did not have to be scared though. The old mans name was Mr Jones, a man that I will always keep close to my heart. We got very close after that accident. He was with me all the time at the hospital and when I was well enough to leave, he offered me to go to the café in the city and ...
