At this point in the story, Emma begins to understand love more, and it helps her to mature from her spoiled self. Emma then begins to fall in love herself. She falls in love with Mr. Churchill, who ends up marrying another woman. After Mrs. Churchill dies, Emma realizes that it wasn’t Mr. Churchill that she loved, but Mr. Knightly, the family friend who had always pointed out her flaws. Emma and Mr. Knightly confessed their love for each other and married not long after Mr. Woodhouse’s death. Jane Austen wrote this book with three volumes and using chapters, which I think made reading it slightly easier. She was very wordy with how she wrote it which made it somewhat difficult to understand. I think while writing this book she was trying to show how much Emma changed while going through everything. She started out to be pretty self-centered, but after obtaining relationships with other people and learning what it really feels like to be in love, she turned out to be a very caring wife. The book shows how relationships with others can affect your life and who you are. I think this book also shows that what people want and need can be found in the most obvious places.
