The government has been pushing to raise taxes for many years now, but this is not so our cities can have better law enforcement or so out country can defend ourselves better against terrorists. It is because the government wants the people to get them out of the debt they have caused by their own selfish acts. The desire of any worker to want to keep what she has already earned through her hard labor is not classified as greed. However, the desire to take more of other peoples money does qualify as greed - government greed. Instead of raising taxes, the government should lower taxes. This would, in return, result in economic growth. There are groups and organizations of people who try to take a stand against the corrupt government to inform the society that our supply of fossil fuels are quickly running out as the government sits by and does nothing at all.
