...the reader that all humans are now “decanted” and then conditioned to perform the way society wants them to the babies are then predestined to a certain caste category, that consist of Alphas, Betas, Gammas, Deltas, and Epsilons. In this society, promiscuity in expected and they live by the saying, “Every one belongs to every one else.”(Pg. 29) Also, happiness is never absent for anyone in this society because the are conditioned to never be unhappy. One of the main characters, Bernard Marx, does not fit the previous description of the model citizen. He is neither sexual nor happy. It is when her goes to the Savage Reservation with Lenina that he is finally happy. It is here that Bernard meets Linda, a woman who formally lived in “the Other Place”, and her son John.
