...few people, most of them were middle-aged, welcomed us with excessive passion. They let us go into their homes, gave us a cup of tea, and introduced their houses to us. But all they really cared about was to sell postcards or something to us. Somebody told me, ?¡ãI don?¡¥t understand what the value of these old shabby buildings is? I really prefer a new one.?¡À They knew nothing about the brilliant culture created by their ancestor. Hence I call this attitude "disconnection". Last but not the least, many old people just ?¡ãignore?¡À us. When we went into their courtyards and said hello to them they merely kept doing their housework and didn?¡¥t reply a word as if we were inexistent.
