...ollege more affordable by increasing pell grants but how does that help those of us who don’t qualify for pell grants? The next subject President Bush talked about was social security reform. He stated that by the year 2042 the entire system will be bankrupt. He wants to have privatized accounts so that some of your social security payments will go to that account. Last year I paid $160 into social security, I think the private accounts are a good idea because I would like to save part of my money for my retirement. Faith-Based Initiatives was the next subject. He wants to reduce gangs by developing outreach programs to help the at risk youth. I think this is a great idea because this will hopefully reduce murders and crimes. The War on Terror is another important subject that President Bush touched on. Bush wants to keep America safe from terrorists threats. He wants to promote peace in the middle east. But I don’t agree with his plan. President Bush states that “no desire no intention to impose our form of government on anyone else” however he wants all of middle east to be democratic nations.
