There Goes My Life
...om the small-town which he lived, not expecting his former girlfriend/high school sweet heart to become pregnant and to hear news of him being a daddy. Knowing that they were just kids their self how were they going to raise one. Teenagers now a days do not realize the amount of responsibility that comes with being a parent until they their self become one and then looks back at what their parents really meant by saying listen to me I know what is best for you right now. As time goes by and the changing of diapers they are still in the small-town which they stayed to raise their new family even though before he thought he had made a mistake now realizes that mistake is now displayed in pictures and drawings that cover the refrigerator. A life, which he was now responsible for a beautiful little girl with big blue eyes staring at him and those bouncing curls, greets him everyday after a long day at work. When he sees her and thinks while she walks upstairs to go to bed and thinks “There Goes My life” now in a different outlook. Not in a disappointment but in a happiness feeling knowing what he now has he would not change for the world. By getting her car ready to go on her new adventure, handing her his American Express hoping she will be careful, and use the American express for what she needs. By giving her that card to use, I believe he still wanted her to be a part of him even while she is gone, to depend on him as he depended on her through love. Knowing he will not see her everyday when he awakes to look into those big beautiful blue eyes. As he sits and watches he depart from the driveway he cries” There Goes My Life” Kenny Chesney picked this song to sing about fathers and their children. This is the kind of song anyone can relate to’-- whether they are leaving home, letting someone go or their best intentions turned over by life. When we recorded it, we knew people would see themselves in it. (BNA) "There Goes My Life" has also caught the ears of the National Fatherhood Initiative, who've singled the Luttrell, Tennessee-based singer/songwriter out as a nominee for their 2004 Fatherhood Award. Though Chesney -- who is single -- is without children, the non-profit organization dedicated to promoting “involved, responsible and committed fatherhood” recognizes the impact of the song.
