For example, Andrea was always afraid of love because she thought that everyone had pity on her and it was not true love. Andrea pushed love away. Pete expresses, ”She touched my eyes and touched my lips and her hands trembled with love.” Pete helped Andrea overcome her fear and knew by the touch of Andrea’s hand she was in love with him. Secondly, The Eyes Of Love was successful because it produces an emotional impact. While reading the story I was emotionally involved. I cried when Andrea and Pete grew far apart. The both loved each other and did not know how to show it so they dealt with their problems by ignoring each other. From my own past experience it is so sad to see two people care so deep about each other and just let their problems disappear on their own without ever working them out. I did not want to see that happen to Andrea and Pete. My tears faded away when Andrea came back looking for her cat, Emily, when Pete was standing in her apartment trying to win her love back. I was so excited at the end of the story because it turned out exactly how I hoped. It had a happing ending and mended two broken and lost hearts. Instead of them both being blind of love, they became to have eyes of love for each other. Lastly, The Eyes Of Love was worthwhile because it embodies an affirmation of life. This short story presents a vision that life is valuable and worthy of respect. For example, Pete always took the earth for granted. Pete never realized how important the sight of faces, figures, fruits, and flowers, the red of sunset, and the green of grass were until he met Andrea. Pete soon came to notice that the earth is so precious and that everything is beautiful. ...
