Does God exist?

...every being can be a dependent being. Therefore there exists a self-existent being”(Feinberg, Shafer-Landau,2). Both of these argument raise one question, does God exist? God does exist in Anselm’s ontological argument. “...You who give me understanding to faith, grant me that I may understand, as much as You see fit, that You exist as we believe You to exist, and that You are what we believe You can be. Now we believe that You are something than which nothing greater can be thought”(Feinberg, Shafer-Landau,6). Anselm is referring that God as the “You” in the above quote. Anselm is simply stating that God gives me the faith to believe that God exist and that nothing is greater than God. In addition, Anselm further states that whoever doesn’t believe in God is a fool. Gaunilo does not believe God exist. He writes on behalf of the fool. His response to Anselm’s belief that God exist and he is “something-than-which-nothing-greater-can-be-thought” by stating that if God is “something-than-which-nothing-greater-can-be-thought”, he shouldn’t only exist in our minds but also in reality.
