...eacher/ guru. A guru is a spiritual teacher of the Sikhs. There are a total of 11 gurus in our religion. They are Guru Nanak Dev Ji, guru Angad dev Ji, Guru Amar Das Ji, Guru Ram Das Ji, Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Guru Hargobind Ji, Guru Har Rai Ji, Guru Harkrishan Ji, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and The Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The Guru Granth Sahib Ji is our holy manuscript, which we read to pray to god. Guru Gobind Singh Ji had baptized the Hindus into Sikhs so they could fight the mugals because the mugals were forcing Hindus to become Muslim and if the Hindus did not listen they would be killed. Guru Gobind Singh Ji Lost his four sons two in battle and two were captured by the mugals and were to be put in a box of bricks until they could not breath anymore and die. Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s father was Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The greatest Sikhs assembled the Guru Granth Sahid Ji over a period of 240 years.
