How to make great mac and cheese

Gather all of the following to get started. -1 large pot -1 large spoon for mixing -a cheese grater to shred blocks of cheese -1 small bowl for the shredded cheese -1 large bowl for the shredded cheese -1 13X9 inch aluminum pan for easy clean up -a strainer to drain the cooked noodles Before starting the dish, the fist thing that needs to be done is to preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Now the oven is set, lets begin. Begin by boiling a full pot of water on high to use for the elbow macaroni. Keep an eye on it and as soon as the water begins to boil, reduce the temperature to medium and add all of the elbow macaroni from the single boxes and the store bought box. Set the cheese powder packet from the store bought macaroni aside to be used later. Bring the water and noodles to a second boil and allow the elbow macaroni to cook for about 15 minutes. While the noodles are cooking on medium begin shredding the blocks of New York Sharp cheddar cheese. Place into a large bowl and set aside. In the small bowl, keep a little shredded cheese to the side about a cup or so. This will be used as a final touch on top of the dish. Every ones preference of the consistency of the noodles firmness is different, test the macaroni a few times carefully as it is cooking by spooning a few out, letting them cool and tasting. Do not burn yourself! Once the noodles have reached your desired consistency and you have all your cheese shredded and separated into two bowls, drain your noodles using a strainer. Be extremely careful when draining the noodles since the water will be hot. As you are placing the noodles into your strainer in the kitchen sink, make sure to tilt the head to the left or the right in order to avoid getting any steam into your eyes and face because the steam is very hot a may burn. Once the noodles have been drained, it is time to start mixing all of the remaining ingredients for baking. Pour the drained noodles into the aluminum pan. Next add 1 cup of milk, 1 stick of butter (softened at room temperature) and the powdered cheese packet and mix together using the large spoon.
