Something I Really Wanted
...was speechless; I was waiting patiently the whole day, all for nothing. Not waiting a minute longer I decided to go to the nearest grocery store to get them myself. By the time I reached the store it started to drizzle. I walked in to the store and their they were, in the beginning of the second isle on the first row, staring at me as if they were whispering my name. I reached out and grabbed the first box, and marched over to the cashier with a big smile on my face. “That will be 3 dollars and 25 cents sir” the clerk said. I reached in to my pocket, and pulled all my loose change and dumped it on the counter. The cashier gave me a strange look, “your 25 cents short sir” she exclaimed. I could not believe my ears, I ran all the way here to buy my cookies and now I don’t even have enough money. I decided quickly to run home and get a quarter. “ I will be right back,” I said to the cashier. I darted out of the store, and in the background I heard her screaming something, but it wasn’t important, because all that was on my mind was my cookies. I ran home as quickly I could, grabbed a quarter, and was on my back to the store. By now, it already began to rain heavily, but I didn’t’ care, my reward would come soon.
