...ivers ed classes caused me to look behind, to the right, and to the left. All clear, but rule one in drving says you never stop looking for traffic as you back out. Looked to the right and as I looked to the left, BAM! My car rebounded off something with a loud CRASH and my head slammed into the side of my door. I sat dazed wondering if I’d just been dreaming. Slowly, heart racing, I turned to see the front end of a white vehicle sitting behind me and then I saw…. My trunk. Shakily I unbuckled my belt, and crawled out of my car. As I stood on the pavement I noticed I was missing a shoe, found it on the floor of the passenger side. Walked around to the back of my car to see glass everyhwere and I got a good look at my trunk. Bashed up to all heavens, my heart shattered. I walked back to my door and collapsed to the ground, sobbing to myself. The person I’d hit came over and laid a calming hand on my quivering shoulder. “Hey, are you ok?”, it was a man’s voice. I looked up to see Mr. Provit, a biology teacher my friend had last year. Hesitantly I nodded, gather myself together, and stood. I shakily reached into my car and pulled out my liscense and insurance. As Mr.Provit wrote down my info, I called my mom. Crying I told her I’d smashed the car. Gently my mother asked where I was and I told her. She showed up in a matter of minutes. When she arrived, she introduced herself to the educator and then turned to me. “Have you gotten his info?” she asked, I nodded, “ Has anyone called the police?” Mr.Provit answered he’d done it as he handed me his information. The police didn’t take long in arriving and explaining the whole process to my inexperienced mind. Noone could tell who’s fault it was exactly, but at that moment I didn’t care. As everyone gave my car a second glance, the cop asked me to start the car. I climbed into the seat, pushed in the clutch, and turned the key. Much to my heart’s relief, it started. My mother then hollered for me to try to back out. Put the stick into gear, left off the brake, slowly let off the clutch as I reved the gas, and just as I thought I was home f...
