After internet gaming took him over he did not want to do anything that did not involve a computer, so all his friends stopped coming over except me. He also gained 15 pounds from not going out and hanging out does not leave his computer room except to go to school. Due to Internet gaming there is an increase of teen shut-inns. Secondly, the internet has brought about a new breed of teens called chatters. A chatter is a person that sit on the computer all day and converses in chat rooms. Before the internet people would meet people in bars, clubs, and discos. Now people meet in chat rooms. I believe we have a problem when chatters cannot even step out of their house to meet new people. I have a friend that is a chatter and he meets all his girlfriends on the internet. His newest girlfriend that he met over the internet has not seen him but she is in “love” with him. Their dates consist of online chat rooms and web pages. He is too lazy to actually go out and do anything physical. Lastly, the internet has created a new type of people called super spenders. A super spender is a person that buys everything they need on the internet. Since the internet is so vast, they get accustomed to shop at home all day. A super spender depends on the internet for their day to day needs. I work for an internet and cable company called WOW. My job consists of troubleshooting internet issues and walking customers through using the internet. A college student called in and started to cry because her internet was not working. She then told me could not order food or pay her bills because she did not know where the super market was. I asked her if she was disabled she then replied that she was not, only reason she provided was that it was...
