...American idealistic individual well-know gridiron football player, later on retired and became a sportscaster, movie actor, and advertising personality, shook the world on Sunday, June 12, 1994, after 10 o’clock; a single man came through the back entrance of Nicole Simpson’s condominium (O.J. Simpson’s ex-wife), the man slashed her neck almost severing it completely from her neck, and ran into a confrontation with Ronald Goldman (Nicole’s closest friend). The trial went on and on until a year and a four months later, a statement arose from the selected panel of jury, “We the jury in the above action find the defendant Orenthal James Simpson not guilty of the crime of murder.”(Doug Linder, The Trial of Orenthal James Simpson), he was found liable for the deaths of his ex-wife and Goldman and was ordered to pay $33.5 million in damages to the families later in 1997. A famous, worshiped, individual all thought of being a harmless celebrity who would not do an atrocious crime as committed, even though acquitted. Celebrity: a famous person, being well-know and honored; fame; renown. A definition of what a celebrity is, even though they are honored and renowned, but celebrities tend to hide certain events in their life as in molestation, marital issues, and ways of improving self-image. A simple anecdote is Michael Jackson. Jackson starred in a film with Diana Ross called, “The Wiz,” He sold many chart topping albums such as “Of the Wall”, “Thriller,” and “Bad.” He helped create “We Are The World,” song with Lionel Richie. (Encylopaedia Online School Edition) “Jackson’s eccentric, secluded lifestyle grew increasingly controversial in the early 1900s. His reputation was seriously damaged in 1993 when he was accused of child molestation by a 13-year-old boy who claimed to have stayed at his Los Angeles ranch.” (“Michael Jackson” Encyclopaedia Online School Edition). As of May 1994 Jackson be wed Lisa Marie Presley (daughter of Elvis Presley), and kept it locked up from the ears of the world, until it was released to the public and thought of it to be a way to improve his image after the child molestation charges.
