Since it is a hamlet, and rather remote, many of the people earn livings by working with live stock or providing services to the residents, such as repairing toasters or serving up pints of Guinness at the local pub. Since they live in a small, isolated village, everyone knows all of the latest gossip on everyone in Tullymore. Because of the close proximity of their homes and their social hang outs in town, such as the pub, everyone is able to keep an eye out and notice any behaviors that aren’t normal for each resident, therefore formulating their theories on who was the lucky winner of the lottery.
