She lives life by the heart, no matter the consequences, and because of it, is taught a lesson on love. Marianne’s spirit is showed in every aspect of her life. Throughout the movie, Marianne’s physical traits show off her personality well. Her entire appearance is very soft and dreamy. When Mr. Dashwood passes away, Marianne shows her sadness by playing the piano and singing. She cares only for herself, singing to make her feel better, while the melancholy tunes create a dreary mood in the house. An example of how Marianne is romantic, would be when she falls down the hill, or how she carries around a book of Shakspere poems, or even when talking to Mrs. Dashwood about Edwrrd saying, “to die for love…what could be more glorious?
