...Barbie dolls but, it did not stop there. After having so many kinds of Barbie dolls, I felt the need to also collect other Barbie things. I started with buying dresses and clothes allotting at least 5 pairs for each of my dolls. Then my mom and her friends started giving me the bigger things Barbie needs every Christmas and Birthday I had. I had a 4 story Barbie house, a horse, a car, a kitchen set, a sala set, a laundry set, a swimming pool, 3 bedroom sets a whole lot more. I had almost everything Barbie would need and want for herself. The only thing missing in the scenario is a playmate. My friends who are actually my neighbors became our regular guests because of my Barbie doll collection. They would come daily at around 10 am and stay there until dinner time that their moms sometimes get really pissed-off with them. When we are busy playing with our Barbies the whole day, we tend to forget about the time. The setting-up of all the things will already take us hours to finish even before we actually start with the whole playing proper. Another factor to consider was my brother Ron. He always makes fun of our Barbies and ruin everything we have set-up. We don’t want to include him in our game that’s why he asked my mom to buy him a Ken doll and she did. Ever since that time we didn’t have any choice but to let him join in the game. I hated my brother then because of his naughtiness but now when I remember those things we did when we were young, I just laugh or smile. I really gave a lot of importance to my Barbie dolls at that time. I wanted to keep them and give them to my future children and my children’s children. I am now 22 and I still have some of my Barbie dolls. Unfortunately, I lost a lot of them somewhere along my childhood but I can still remember all the memories and the fun times we’ve shared together. I only have 8 Barbies left all of which are now considered as collector’s item. I was able to save the precious one’s which has the gold zeal of a collector’s item Barbie and would definitely cost thousands of dollars if I sell them to Mattel. Some of these Barbies were the Cleopatra Barbie, Marilyn Monroe Barbie, Christmas special Barbie, Snow White Barbie, Filipiniana Barbie, etc. I have no intentions of selling them and hopefully I wouldn’t be tempted to do so.
