It is called Choo-suk(Ãß¼®). On this holiday, everybody goes to their hometown with the whole family to visit their elders and to thank their ancestors. A family goes to their ancestor¡¯s tomb to cut the grass and takes care of the tomb. Then, they play some games to unite the family. Actually, there is no origin of Choo-suk that has been proven. However, the main idea came from respect to ancestors. Usually, Asian people think that their ancestors¡¯ spirits bring happiness to them. Thus, they express their thanks for the harvest to their forebears. Japan has a similar holiday that is called O-Bong(ªªÝÎ). Japanese take a vacation around August 15th, for four days. O-Bong means the word ¡°round¡± in Japanese. August 15th is the day that the biggest full moon in a year rises. Therefore, Japanese call the Thanksgiving Day, O-Bong.
