Comparison and Contrast of the Helpless
...me. An animal may be undernourished, not given proper shelter, and tortured before it is killed. Then it is shipped off to food companies and is eaten by customers. Those customers eat the food and don’t think twice about how their food was treated. Nursing home patients may develop bed sores and might have bruising. They may not have been turned over at proper times and could have been neglected. They may also have not have been fed proper foods or fed at all. The employees at a home are hired just so there will be workers. They get selected even if they do not have the proper training that should be required for the job. Those workers only take the job just to make money and only a few of them actually care how the patients are being treated. Then the families are being told that their loved ones are being treated with the best care possible when they are actually being harmed or ignored when they need help the most. The comparison is corruption exists in both stories. In An Animal’s Place, animals are being tested with makeup products which sometimes hurts them. Chickens’ beaks are being snipped off and tortured. Pig’s tails are also being cut off just for entertainment. In Inside the Home, the elderly are being dropped, raped, and sometimes become malnourished. Overall, both stories show that all elderly patients and all animals need to be checked on and loved. They should not be harmed and all deserve the best in life. There is also contrast between the two stories. In Inside the Home, all the patients are not turned at proper times and most of them are neglected for long periods of time.
