...During this time Lenin used his free time to read numerous articles of revolutionary literature, including the Marxist Journal. He also joined a local revolutionist group, were he could discuss politics. After three years in a well paying job Lenin decided to leave the law office to pursue his political passions, by publishing his many ideals in the Marxist Journal. A year later the government banished Lenin to Siberia for his Marxist (Communist Views) along with Julius Martov, and many others who shared their ideals. Lenin was did not see his exile as a punishment but, as an opportunity to finish writing his manuscript on the economic situation of Russia in a Marxist interpretation. Even though in exile friends and family frequently sent Lenin money, books, and news papers so he could keep up with the state of the government. This helped Lenin build a substantial reputation in revolutionary circles, and he became not only a theoretical but a practical revolutionist. Lenin thought despite the economic backwardness of Russia, it had reached a stage of social differentiation. Where many conflicts arouse, therefore ready for a revolution to unite the masses. In 1898 the Social Democratic Party was formed and with that creation, Lenin had aspirations of one day leading the party. In 1902 Lenin wrote a very influential pamphlet called AWhat is to be done?@ it outlined a proposal to make every social class equal. Soon after the distribution Lenin began work to become a major part of congress, by moving though the ranks and becoming leader of the Social Democratic Part. Lenin thought that the name need something else to really out line what the party wanted so he renamed the party the Social Democratic Workers Party. However in 1903 the party broke into two factions; a long time friend and colleague Julius Martov did not approve of Lenin=s ideas for radical action, he took his followers and named them the Mensheviks. Lenin=s named his followers the Bolsheviks, they thought of the Mensheviks as soft, weak and afraid to take the action that Lenin deemed necessary. Lenin had hopes of an armed insurection to overthrow the Tsarian Government, but his dream was soon destroyed when many of his supporters were arrested before any attempt at a revolution could be staged. This was devastating for Lenin and he went into exile once more, not to return to Russia For 10 years. During his second Exile he began to further refine his socialist views in western Europe, attending many conferences and debates. With the break out of World War One brought about the opportunity that Lenin was looking for, a chance for the socialists to stage a revolution. Lenin returned to Russia in 1917 and was head strong to seize power away from the Tsar. So in July Lenin=s supporters which included the Armed Workers Militia, Kronstadt Sailors and the self proclaimed Red Guard; demanded that the government declare the Soviets were the sole authority in Russia. The government was quick to take action on this threat, warrants were issued for the arrest of Lenin and many of the higher ranked in the Social Democratic Workers Part.
