Nature vs. Nurture Theories

In my opinion both nature and nurture are very important because we have inherent factors that play some role in shaping us but it is also true that our environment and experiences have a significant impact on the person we become. For example, in my daughter who is only 29 months I can see many of my wife’s and my family traits. She is very stubborn and determined. When she was only eleven months and she would get mad in such a way that she could go on crying for a long while until she vomited. At this age, I consider her to be too small to learn this type of attitude which neither my wife or I have taught her. I have also noticed that I myself have many inherit characteristics in my behavior from my parents but through nurture I control them differently. For example, I have a strong temperament and can be very proud like my father but I feel that my wife has motivated me to control it since she is very patient and forgiving. In this same way, I feel that we have many inherit characteristics but that our behavior has to do a lot with nurture. Nurture consists of many things. It is the environment the child is raised in, including parenting, early schooling, the home, eating habits, interactions with people and many things such as media. How then can these things not play an important part in shaping who we become? I know a pair of twins who are very different despite the fact that they their genetic compositions are identical.
