History vs. Hollywood: BraveHeart
...you get married, the leader of the area can take the brides virginity before the husband gets to her. The whole love story is Hollywood but primo noctor did happen. After he gets married, the troops try to rape her and find out she’s been married illegally so they kill her. William Wallace then comes into town and raise kills all the troops and the rebellion starts. This, after looking at the site seems to be all Hollywood but the rebellion does start with William Wallace. Now is when William starts to get a backing. Then they take out the local magistrate and some little squads of troops. He kills the guy that killed his wife. There is no proof to these events. Next we head to the battle of Sterling, which is they’re first full blown battle. All of the events during the battle aren’t factual but the outcome of it is. In the movie it takes place in a field but historically it took place on a bridge. They take over sterling and then they invade England. The first city that gets targeted is York. They burn that whole city down and he cuts off the duke of York’s head, which is the nephew to the king, which there is no evidence of. The next part of his life is unknown to history but in the movie there is another battle. Then the king calls him to a meeting and Wallace trusts him and that’s where he dies in the movie.
