“Cool Hand Luke”
.... A few he played in are “Cars,” (2005) “The Verdict,” (1982) “A New Kind of Love,” (1963) and “Somebody Up There likes me.” (1956) Paul Newman was also the director of “The Glass Menagerie,” (1987) “The Shadow Box,” (1980) and a few more. As I look through the movie descriptions and reviews it seems that Paul Newman like to perform in dramas and comedies. He also seemed to like to play an alcoholic or movies with good morals. “Cars,” is a Disney and pixar film about talking cars that drive around on rout 66. It is hard to tell the character Paul Newman plays because they are talking cars. “The Verdict,” is a drama about a drunk lawyer who is given one more shot to prove himself, this kind of relates to “Cool hand Luke,” because in a way Luke is also given another chance when he is sent to prison. “A New kind of Love,” is a comedy about a fashion designer and a newspaperman who meet on their way to Paris. These two fall in love. It seems to me that Paul Newman has the type of character that sweeps people off their seats. He seems to be very charming. “Somebody up there loves me,” is a Drama about boxing. A guy named Rocky has a very hard life as a child. Rocky is an alcoholic. Paul Newman also made his mark with this movie. With these few movies it is easy to see what he prefers in a movie and what characters he tends to play. Paul Newman has been nominated for best actor and best direction many times. Some movies he has been nominated for and/or won are “Road to Perdition,” (2002, nominated) “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” (1958, nominated), “The Color of Money,” (1986, Won) and “Nobody’s Fool.” (1993, Won) As you can see from this list Paul Newman is a very experienced and great actor. In his movies he is easy to love. It’s no surprise he has had over 20 nominations for best actor and over 6 Wins for best actor. Paul Newman was born in 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio.
