In other words, when there is decrease in mortality and morbidity, the people are healthy. There is a great chance of survival if nutritional intake is sufficient, thus less illness (diseases, etc.) and death. Pregnancy, lactation, hyperthyroidism, convalescence from illness of surgery (and other conditions) will require increased nutrient levels. On the other hand, when there is less or decreased intake of nutrients there is a possibility of more diseases (such as stroke, cancer, fluid and electrolyte deficiencies, cardiovascular disorders, etc.) and could even lead to death.
