Culture in the U.S.

...lture, the combining of both cultures into one. Every state, continent, and person has his or her own values. Culture is evident through their families or it may even be the beach. That is why culture is not the same in every part of the United States. With so much diversity and variation, people have learned to assimilate into an American country. For example, my friend who is a Korean lives in America and her culture is seen in her home. Every time I visit, I am obligated to take off my shoes, and the aroma of Korean food circulates through the whole house. Her house, just like many other homes does not posses the same “smell” as in an American home. Even though she is from a different ethnic group, her family settled down in America without loosing their culture. In the U.S. culture is characterized by the American dream, life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Having a home, two children, and a car is what many Americans value. However, this may be strange and bizarre to an Asian or a Muslim. This is another reason why culture is not the same throughout the United States. While American culture may be pop music, hamburgers, and an afternoon at the beach, this is not the tradition followed by a Muslim. For example, Muslims who live in America are usually quite isolated, listen to religious songs most of the time, and are not allowed to eat hamburgers because of religious values.
