...etal has a larger varity of musical instruments, many of which are not associated with the general description of the style of music being portrayed, it takes a more liberal listener to really enjoy the music. The singing is more symphonic, usually including anywhere from 3 to 10 singers, suchas the band Therion, makes the singing offset the type of music being played. The general designation of Symphonic Black Metal is even imperfect in description. Since the connection between Symphonic Black Metal and Black Metal are barley audible and the epic soundscapes being presented are hardly symphonic, it makes for a loosely connectable field of music under one name. Considering Symphonic Black Metal is deeply rooted in metal, it is very hard for it to span genres making all the music fairly similar in lyrics and meaning. The same concept that makes the genre of music promising to some is also it's greatest flaw, the calmness of the music. Since the genre is still catagorized as metal, it is generally loud, but since Symphonic Black Metal is a style where there is typically symphonic singing, it must be slower, making it predominantly calmer which, in turn, requiring more of an anquired taste to enjoy it. Trash/Speed Metal indubitably isn't perfect. Trash/Speed Metal is often too loud for some and the music is to quick for general listeners. The singing is not quite your average "pop star" sound, it is generally a throaty, raspy, somewhat inaudible scream with very little singing at all. Since the lyrics are yelled, they are generally taken as evil or thought to harbour "subliminal" messages, so the bands who play them are labeled as unethical miscreants. If you can get past all the drawbacks to Trash/Speed Metal, you will find a very interesting style of music. Thrash/Speed Metal is widely used as "pump-up music", music that many like to work out to or listen to in preporation for mentally or physically straining events. Many people like to sing along to music and since the voices in Thrash/Speed Metal are more throaty and raspy, they are more fun ...
