Soon Charles moved yet again, this time to Kansas City, a city with many notorious gangsters, where he acquired himself the name “pretty boy” by a prostitute from a brothel. He became a very colorful criminal in the area, and in the next 12 years he would go onto rob about 30 banks and kill 10 men. On June 17, 1933 Floyd and an friend of his, Adam Richetti were reported as the culprits in the “Union Station Massacre” in Kansas City where 4 men and FBI agent, Raymond Caffrey were gunned down in an attempt to break Frank "Gentleman" Nash from police custody.
