In the film version of Troy, Achilles is played by Brad Pitt, whom he accurately portrays as a great warrior, but that is where the similarities between Homer and Hollywood ends. In Troy, Achilles' actions are romantically motivated, which is never mentioned in Homer's Iliad. In the epics, Achilles is dead and gone by the time the wooden horse is built, but in the film, he is still alive with motives for attacking Troy entirely charged by his undying love for Briseis, a priestess of Apollo (although in Homer's Iliad, she was considered a slave).
