One way that the word responsible is used is to put the blame on someone; when someone says to you “You’re responsible for this,” that means that either you’re to blame if something goes wrong, or it means that you have to watch over the thing that you are responsible for to make sure that nothing goes wrong. I think that responsibility is something that not everyone can handle. As you grow older, you continue to get more responsibility. As a teenager you are responsible for your homework and your life; but as a teenager, you are not responsible for your whole life because your parents are still there to take on some of your responsibilities. When you move out of your parent’s house, that is when you take on even more responsibility. When you are on your own, you are responsible for your own rent, your own car, your bills, and many other things. I think it is a good thing if you are responsible because that will make you successful in the future, but if you are not responsible then you will never get anywhere. You have to have responsibility to get yourself through college, and get a good job when you graduate from college. If you’re not responsible, then no company would want to hire you. Responsibility is something that I think everyone has in their life and it is something that will always be a part of your life. This past week, responsibility has been a big part of my life. Since I am participating in the Upward Bound Program I must live on campus, I have a lot more responsibilities then your average teenager. I live with my roommate and since we have no parents to clean up after us and cook for us, it is our responsibility to do so. We have to be responsible and keep the room clean, do the laundry.
