female serial killers
...ittle medicine so that they become sick. Then she will administer the proper dose so they do not die. After time however the nurse will allow the patient to die and move on to the next victim. They do this so it will appear that they have saved someone’s life. One nurse, Genene Jones worked in a children’s ward and poisoned sixteen infants to make it seem as though they were sick and she was helping them. She did so to feel importance of working in a hospital and saving children’s lives. The Disciple Killer is a women who follows the example of her husband or a significant other. She may also follow male killers in the news and copy their crimes. One women who felt the need to do this was Faye Copeland. Her husband was a cattle buyer who brought young men to the farm to have them write bad checks to buy goods. They would tell the young men that they had set up a checking account for them and then make them buy cattle and other goods. After this had been done, the two would kill the young men and keep the property. Although the plan had been originally that only her husband would do the killing, she fell into the plot and was caught because one man who knew what they were doing pretended to be a naive cattle buyer and called the police when he discovered the whole evil plan. Faye’s worst mistake was the list that the police found in the house of all the people that they had killed. The final type of female killer is the rarest of them all. The Hedonistic Serial Killer, also referred to as the Pleasure killer. These women may pretend to befriend victims, then later kill them and use the bodies in gratifying acts. One such woman is Carol Bundy, of California who would take in prostitutes and runaways. She would soon kill them and refrigerate the bodies. After doing so, she would use their heads in sexual acts. Besides serial killing, there are other much more random crimes that women commit. To name a few, there are baby killers, mothers, who for specific reasons or no reason at all, feel the need to kill their child or children. This can often be blamed on post-pardom depression, in which a mother becomes extremely depressed after the birth of a child. This has been seen in such cases as Susan Smith, who drove into a lake with her two sons in the car. Sometimes, but not in most cases, the women will kill or attempt to kill herself along with the children. My thought is that the mother kills her child in her rage of depression, but after realizing that what she has done is wrong, will kill herself to escape punishment. There are a few common ways that mothers share in killing their children. Such as, beating, shaking, burning, drowning suffocating and drugging. Or they may find it easier and less violent to merely neglect the child, by not feeding or taking care of him/her. To make sense of these crimes, women often offer excuses like the child was crying or misbehaving, emotion instability, the child was unwanted, or the child was too much responsibility to handle. Whatever the reason may be, to the proper authorities, the reason is usually not good enough, to take a child’s life. Another act of random female violence is of girls who join gangs. Although many have stated that girls in gangs commit less violent crimes then those of boy gangs, it can also be said that they do involve themselves in violent acts. In female gangs in California, one part of initiation is to be jumped in. This involves all the girls currently in the gang violently beating those who want to join. And although it is rare, some females in gangs will kill other people to prove that they are tough enough to be in the gang. But why do these girls involve themselves in gangs in the first place? Many feel unaccepted by peers and look to girl gangs to form a bond and relationship with others who feel the same as them. But would not joining a gang really alter their behavior? I believe that other females who kill when they are older may have felt the same way as the girls who become involved with gangs. It could also be quite possible that by being in gangs during teen years may help some of these women become aware of what they are getting involved in during their younger years. They will probably commit less violent crimes during their youth, rather than in older ages when their crimes are much more severe. Aside from girls in gangs, there are other female teenagers that feel the need to commit violent acts. As in the case of Deidre Hunt, who was abused by her mother and sexually assaulted when she was eleven, many girls turn to lives of crime to escape from domestic violence. By age eighteen, Deidre was already involved in a number of armed robberies and one attempted murder for which she escaped punishment. After that, she moved to Florida and became involved with a married man who promised her wealth and power if she helped kill his wife. She hired a friend to do so and after he failed to kill her, Deidre in turn murdered him. After police found out that she was in the conspiracy, she was sentenced to death. Now we understand a little more why some women commit crimes and how they do so, What is a usual punishment for women? It is impossible to say that most women get the same sentence, in fact the punishments of women depend more case by case then that of men. For example, most men who commit rape will be given sentences for abo...
