Persuasive essay-Forced integration
...allow for certain things that others might practice which would cause one to look down upon others. There is no way to stop this from taking place unless you change the basis of their religion or they are taught that everyone is different. Problem is it is harder to be taught this later in your life so; it is up to your parents to teach you these things when you are young. Also social status is affected by the schism and forced integration. It affects the status because those who oppose it are usually seen as outcasts and ignored. An example would be people that refuse to change with the times, they eventually are called old fashioned and unpopular. Ultimately forced integration can and will cause internal wars between cultures. A good concept created by the American people to make all cultural, religious and gender barriers no longer exist. It stems from the belief that all people should be and are equal. In order to disembark these barriers one must change the culture itself. But it has been argued that by becoming Americans we are taking on a new culture and should lay our old culture aside. Though this is a valid argument as Americans we are taking on a new name but it would seem ethically invalid to tell someone to forget their past and adopt a new identity. An example would be forcing an Iraqi from change their views on Christians and people who aren’t Islamic. There are many good things evident about forced integration. More interracial relationships (love or friendship), Religious leaders converse over issues in America, Women are being given the same opportunities as men, these are all prospering due to forced integration. The ideal of forced integration is not prospering because of what it was thought it would do but it is prospering because we need each other and we are in a melting pot. Cultural diversity, gender diversity, is both achieved through this and seeing these things spark interest into us all. Friendliness and knowledge of other cultures/races and religions are higher in integrated neighborhoods rather than culturally segregated neighborhoods because they learn to see the differences that we have are really not important when it comes to dealing with one another. It brings about an exposure so that they all recognize each other with respect and little or no strife occurs. Better educational opportunities arise from forced integration. Integrated schools often score higher on standardized tests than large majority schools this is because it allows for students to pick up each others habits whether it is studying or management of time. Scores on the SAT, GPA and ACT are often high and the students seem considerable for college over your average majority school. Jobs also come with the "territory", because these students are able to get into a decent college Jobs come in its hand. Forced integration is a double sided quarter that has very evident positive aspects and very evident negative aspects. Forced integration must be adapted so that instead of a 50% negative and a 50% positive aspect that it has at least a 60% positive aspect and a 40% negative aspect. Americans should accept certain aspects of forced integration because it allows for us to become more diverse and unified instead of a country made up of separate colonies based on race, gender and religion. Forced Integration appears to be positively incrementing and negatively decrementing at a steady pace. One adaptation that must be changed is identity loss. It is true that our united American culture should supercede our backgrounds but it should not totally over shadow them. To take away someone’s background is to take away there complete identity, and that is something we should use as a l...
