...h more convenient not having to drive 15 minutes to Mt. Pleasant just to get a gallon of milk. She told me that she loved the parades and fairs when she was younger. “The parades would last for over an hour,” she stated. She said,” Everson was very nice when she was growing up and she was happy to be raised here.” She said,” it would still be a nice town to grow up in, but there’s not too much in it.” The next person I interviewed was my mother, Carol Sanders. She’s lived in Everson all but three years of her life. She grew up in Everson but moved to Scottdale when she graduated high school. She moved back to Everson whenever she finished beauty school. She said,”I moved back to Everson because the taxes were cheaper at the time and that was good for my business.” She told me all about the good times she had growing up. She said,” In the winter the cops would block off pigeon hill [which is the biggest hill in Everson] for all the kids to sled ride. It was so much fun.” She told me when she was growing up there was so much more to do. Now there isn’t really anything. The last person I interviewed was my brother, James Sanders. He’s lived in Everson all his life. He told me how the town was when he was younger. He spoke all about how he used to play football and baseball with all the kids in town. He told me how there weren’t many kids his age in town so he became friends with kids older than him. He said, “ It was nice to be excepted by the older kids because without them I would have had no one to play with.” He said that Everson really didn’t have anything when he was growing up but as a community it was nice because everyone was very friendly with each other. “ There was never any fights, crime, or anything of the sort,” he said, “Everyone got along with each other making it a nice place to live.” He told me how he doesn’t plan on living here the rest of his life, but it wouldn’t be a bad place to raise a family. He said, “ There isn’t too much in this town, but there was never any crime. ...
