Our Generation
...ad slavery? We wouldn’t have had our civil war and that was a huge turning point in the history of our country, and who knows what we would be like today. If we hadn’t had people like M. L. King Jr., the civil rights movement might not have even existed. We would still be in segregated schools and trying to exclude every person that was a different color. If that had been the case, would we still have gone to help other nation in need, or would we have just said, “We can’t help them because they’re a different color.” Would we be in the position we are now where we’re trying to help people that we don’t even know much less a different color than us? It will be a sad day when we, as a country, stop helping people because they’re not like us. If not for our generation, we wouldn’t have all the technology that we have today. With the majority of the technology development coming from the twenty-something crowd, we would not be as advanced as we are today without people stepping out and being heard. While a lot of the new copyright laws were caused by our generation, I think it has made our justice system stronger.
