Descriptive Essay

...guys and girls to hang out while they wait for their turn. Now the food there is excellent and you will never go hungry. To get your food you have to stand in line as if you were in a high school cafeteria. Once you get your food you can take a seat at either a circle table or one of the rectangular tables. This dining area seats about eighty people and staff members. Across the dining area there is a small meeting room. The meeting room has about four couches that are very comfortable. All of this is just inside the campgrounds but there is still much more to see and discover outside the campgrounds. Outside of the grounds there are many hiking trails that can lead you to just about anywhere in the Pike National Forest area. Many of these trails will lead you to other mountains or to high rope courses that the Luther Valley Retreat has set up. One of the high rope courses has three obstacles that you can try. One of the three obstacles is called the pamper pole. The objective is to climb the pole that has pegs that stick out so you can climb and when you get to the top you are to stand up very tall and take a leap to a bar that is hanging out about five feet away from the pole and to grab it. This task might sound easy but as you get higher on the pole it starts to shake back and forth which makes it much harder to stand still on with out falling. The second obstacle is a partner one; you and your partner have to climb up what would look like a ladder. This stunt is hard because as you are trying get up the ladder each step keeps getting higher and higher than the one before and you have to try to keep the ladder from swinging back and forth. You must rely on your partner to help you get up the ladder with out falling. The third obstacle is a series of different stunts. First you must climb up another pole to a platform that sticks out from the pole. Then you must hang on to the five ropes that are above you and tight walk it across to another platform. Once you get to this point all you have to do is a zip line down to the end of the course, which to me is the best part. Not only does LVR have a high ropes course but they also have a rock climbing wall and a rappelling wall. To get to the rock climbing and rappelling area you have walk a pretty steep pathway to get to the mountain. On your way there you will see a lot of the scenery that the camp offers. As you get to the top of the mountain you see that the wall is about 40 feet high. I don’t know about anybody else but to me that is pretty high to rappel and climb. Both the climb and rappelling wall are side-by-side, each at a far enough distance so no one will get hurt. But if you are not into all of the extreme activities that they have yo...
