... passed by fields and fields with herds of sheep. It looked as if there were barrels of cotton floating on clouds. Jess dreamt of her wish to be a writer. In the real world, it takes hard work to become famous. She just had to find the right people to make her life less infamous. The sounds of ink pens being slotted down on paper, people snoring aloud, and children running up and down the isle became immune to Jess’s hearing. She soon drifted off to sleep and not knowing that when she arose 4 hours later, she would be stepping off the bus. Jess awoke with the indecent sound of her rumbling stomach. She craved her favorite dish of chicken and rice. She stood up to stretch when she became aware of something. She noticed that she arrived in California. It was beautiful to her. Seeing something different for the first time, which she has always dreamed of seeing. She fixated her eyes on the big white sign with red letters stating, “Welcome to California.” Jess was decorated in her favorite colors. She was dressed in a black feather boa with a sparkling pink dress. She dedicated herself with the fashion of 1923. She got off the bus and went straight towards the ticket counter/information booth. Jess asked the man in the red suit where the nearest hotel would be. He told her it was about 20 minutes from here and offered her if she would like a taxi. Jess took the offer and waited patiently on the carved bench. People walked by with all kinds of strangeness. One person had no shoes on, very strange for her eyes to see. In mid thought, a large pile of bird poop landed on her foot. She screamed and took her shoe off her foot. She ran to the laboratory with a dirty shoe in hand and an unbalanced trot. She was so engulfed with her bird accident that she forgot about her crying stomach. There was a pub right next to the station and she decided to have something to eat. She ordered her meal and went back to her bench to have a meal. The food satisfied her stomach very well. The sound escaping from her stomach went away after the first bite of the chicken filet sandwich. She soon finished, just in time for the taxi to arrive in front of her. She went in the taxi and told him the name of hotel the red suited man recommended. She could see all the future movie stars as she drove by the jam-packed streets of California. The area the taxi pulled up to was quieter. She thought to herself that it would be a delight to just write and have no disturbances. Yet, she would first have to find a job to pay future bills. She paid the taxi driver the total of 3 dollars and took her suitcases to the front office of the Monroe Hotel & Resort. She greeted a man with black tie attire at the front desk. He was polite and gave her room number 5. She put the gold key into the tiny hole and turned clockwise. The door opened almost by itself. The room was clean and tidy. There seemed to be no filth at all left behind from past visitors. Jess emptied her black suitcases and filled the dressers extremely fast. The daily paper was placed properly on the red wooded desk. Jess picked it up and scanned through all different kinds of jobs. Jobs such as clerks, maids, and secretaries. The job that mos...
