...ter seemed to be different person in different stories. In ˇ§ Jane Eyerˇ¨, Rochester was like a good man. He helped Jane Eyer, treated her well, and fallen in love with her finally. But in WSS, He became a bad man. He deserted his wife, and married with the other woman. In fact, he never loved Martha. They married because of their different benefits. They had different background, different customs, and different thoughts. And even Rochester made love with his maids. This was very ridiculous to me. But I remembered teachers had said, ˇ§ It was the usual thing around the area at that time.ˇ¨ So it seemed Rochester shouldnˇ¦t be blamed for such mistakes. In two stories, there were two poor women, both Jane Eyer and Martha. Jane Eyer seemed to get happiness at the end, but in fact, she was always like a servant of Rochester inner. Men always were higher than women. And Martha was more unfortunate. She never enjoyed the real happiness. In her all life, she faced a lot of challenges, and was just like the leading role of the tragedy, she lived her life in such way.
