Dreamers are Achievers
...s an age of science and technology where every new day starts with a discovery or an invention. In today’s materialistic world everyone dreams of a grand lifestyle, plush society and No. 1 position, but dreams themselves not turn into reality. William Shakespeare, that great doyen of English literature, wrote that everybody desires prosperity. Who doesn’t want to be rich? Who doesn’t want to roll in wealth, move about in air-conditioned cars, and enjoy all the luxuries of life? But wishes are not horses. Had they been horses, beggars would have been the first to ride. Dreams can be moulded into reality only with hard work, focus, and determination. It is often said that God helps those who help themselves. H. W. Longfellow in his “Psalm of life” writes: “The heights by great men reached and kept, Were not attained by sudden flight, But they while their companions slept, Were toiling upward in the night.” Man, by nature is a selfish and ease-loving creature. The poor fellow was living a life of full ease, luxury, and blessedness in the Garden of Eden when the cruel Gods pushed him down on this Earth saying: “Go, and earn thy living by sweat of thy brow”. Thus confused he came down to face the mighty challenge of life. Through his heroic struggle against the adverse conditions, he came out the forest, changed the face of the universe, and landed on the moon. Could all this have been possible if man had wasted his entire time in dreaming? Robert Collyer, aptly remarks, “A man’s best friend are ten fingers".
