My Practicum Experience
..., assignments were really diverse and challenging. The use of Communication technologies, however, made those challenging tasks lighter. Particularly in cases wherein immediate information transfer is necessary, like when I coordinated with Caltex which was an official partner for Isuzu’s campaign and the official venue for the stickering activity, communication technologies were really a big help. It was when I requested a list of their gasoline stations all over the country. With the use of the telephone and cellular phone, I was able to talk to the contact persons and ask them to immediately fax the information needed to our office. In a just a matter of minutes, the list of Caltex stations came out from the fax machine, clearly and completely. After submitting the list to my superior, I was asked to choose one Caltex station for every province where the stickering campaign was scheduled to be held. After choosing the particular stations, I encoded the address list using a computer and came up with a proposal for the stickering campaign locations. In line with the family day activities, I was also assigned to facilitate and handle the Snapshots station wherein families can have their wacky pose and have their picture taken and printed in just a few minutes. I was trained how to use the digital camera and the Adobe Photoshop that can edit pictures and have it printed with a template of an Isuzu D-Max vehicle in the background. I enjoyed that job and appreciated the clients’ and guests’ positive reaction about the pictures. They were curious about the photo processing and I was flattered when they remarked “Ang galing naman!” It is again another proof that indeed technological advancements like the Adobe Photoshop and digital cameras can really make wonderful and impressing outputs and render client satisfaction. Aside from the feel of using those technological advancements in accomplishing challenging tasks, the wonderful and memorable experiences made my practicum days full of fun and learning. The exposure I had made me a better communicator and I am proud to say that I also contributed something to Brainbox and Company even if I am just a practicumer.
