I would like to begin with my personal text The Plea For amnesty Internationa. The purpose of the text is to raise money for Amnesty International so they may help victims of human rights vialators.It does this by using aggressive language to enrage the readers including such words as "rape,torture and murder" It also involves the reader on a personal level by starting with a hand written note showing human involvement in the text.It encourages the readers to take action and speak out against injustice by telling the reader "when people like you get angry about human rights abuse,you can get some action".The text also use's hyperbole's such as "5000 people were Annihilated" to portray the seriousness of this article and to instill disgust in the reader. Secondly I will discuss how the power of language is used in earl Spencer's eulogy of Princess Diana think Earl Spencer's eulogy is suitably worded for the occasion.The purpose of the text is to show the audience how brilliant Diana was and on a smaller scale to assault the royal family and the paparazzi.
