...rse we all know that our government doesn’t need any leadership to run smoothly, YEAH RIGHT! There are many leadership positions within the house and senate. In the house there is the Speaker of the House, Majority Leader, Majority Whip, Minority Leader, and Minority Whip. The job of the speaker is to um speak? No, the speaker is responsible for recognizing members on the floor, rule on points of order, presiding over house debate, the spokesperson for congress, and appoints task forces and commissions. The Majority Leader is responsible for the management of business on the house floor. The Majority Whip of course whips the house members into shape of course. Well almost actually the Majority Whip is responsible for persuading the members of his political party to vote with the party’s position on certain issues. The minority party, hey I love parties! Anyway the minority party, which currently is the Democrats has their own leadership in the house. They Minority leader sets party agenda, party message and strategy. The Minority Leader has the responsibility to count the votes, but we all know how that went in Florida. In the Senate there are leaders much like in the House.
