Washington May 8 - The Germans accused the British government of using the Lusitania to carry ammunition and other war materials across the Atlantic. The U.S. has no knowledge of this accusation. President Theodore Roosevelt demands revenge against Germany. Many Americans have been deeply disturbed by the sinking of the British passenger ship Lusitania. Of the American citizens on board, the death toll reached 128 people. Though nowhere near the death toll of British and other nationalties on board, many, it has still caused widespread concern. It is obvious that Germany is bloodthirsty, and will take this war to extreme levels. To fire on an unarmed passenger ship is malicious and barbaric. The Germans were once considered a civilized nation, now many question this due to their heinous attack on innocent civilians. American ships are no longer safe in the waters around Great Britain and Ireland.
