Death Penalty
...has a unique talent in them and giving that same juvenile a death penalty, is like saying “NO” to show their talent for no reason. Many children learn about crime from movie and the atmosphere around them which could lead them to make the mistake of killing a person. This is most important reason why juveniles should not be punished to death; because of a bad influence around them instead they should be treated mentally. While giving a decision, the court also mentions this topic about treat them. I also think that controlling the gang in city more strictly would set a good atmosphere around the juveniles. The government of America should not have double standards when is came to juveniles turning into an adults and treating them differently all of the sudden. For example, when the juvenile at age of 18 are suddenly transformed into adults and if they had committed murder as juveniles, the government wants to treat them as adults, “WHY SO?” This is another question that they should consider in mind while making decision. As of today many countries in world are against America for a various reasons and that could increase for one more reason for being an only country in world to gave a death penalty to juveniles. America is a country which wants to have a peace in the whole world and same time gave a death penalty to a little innocent child; that does not match American society principles. In fact, it conflicts with the morals of American society. Americans believe in spreading peace, but sentencing juveniles to the death penalty does not agree with spreading peace at all. Being the only country in the world to apply the death penalty to juveniles, would just show the world that America does not forgive its children for their mistakes. Do Americans want this kind of reputation? Justice Anthony M. Kennedy was correct in his decision when he said “it is proper that we acknowledge the overwhelming weight of international opinion against the juvenile death penalty”.
