Seniors Catrice Williams and Daria Fraizer held new teammates together, with their knowledge and previous experience. Junior Maurika Carlisle provided unity and led the team in scoring in all three games. Once again they beat the odds- putting in coaching skills, playing ability, and teamwork to win three consecutive State titles. The Lady Polars’ were not going to fall into a hole of discouragement, so Faith Patterson made sure her team was going to succeed. The Lady Polars stepped up to 4 hours of practice, 6 days a week, depending on game days. Faith Patterson made sure to keep her girls focused on hard work. When she felt practice is taking too much time from schoolwork, she programmed a study hall before practice to support the girls’ bookwork. The Lady Polars are both intelligent girls and power-ball players. Senior Daria Fraizer decided onWichita State University to further her education and basketball career.
