... talking to various citizens of Flint, Michigan, there are few of the citizen’s that have a distinct role in the film. The one of which I believe portrays the tone of this film the most is that of the woman who butchers rabbits to make a living now that the plant has shut down and her and her family have no other means of gaining an income. As it is the woman appears to be quite fine with the fact that she needs to butcher these animals to make her living even though she keeps some of them as pets and sells other off in the same way. But yet even more questioning is the fact that the woman suggests that she wishes to become a veterinarian. Now this can lead the viewer to ask a few questions. The most common being, How can some one who heartlessly kills animals at the same time be taking care of their kin as pets and at that wish to become a doctor to these same animals? Which is exactly what Michael Moore is trying to do, he uses this woman almost as a parallel to the head of GM a man who claims to care and love the people of flint and support a few but destroy the lives of the others by ending their jobs. The satire of this film is apparent because he laughs at this woman’s obvious self confliction and laughs at her. However at the same time Moore has another gentleman playing the utmost serious role by being the man that evicts a family from their home on the most sacred of all holidays, Christmas. So by definition when an author is poking fun at one time and then making the issue the most serious again the tone can be described as satiric. “What I Want Your Words to do to Me” takes the complete opposite tone of the tone of “Roger and Me”. This film’s tone is much more serious and somber. This film takes the life of 12 female inmates and shows them on their process of writing a narrative about how they felt about what they had done to get to their present situation. The one of the 12 that stuck out the most was and older woman who went by the name of __________ she told the story of being a once wild hippie activist who had taken part in some random bombings in the early sentence and how she would not get out. The remorse alone that _________ tells her story with lets almost no other possible idea come into your mind that she realized how foolish her actions were and that she truly wishes not to be in that position and hopes that by people hearing her story they will be capable of not doing what she did and regrets it holey.
