Beowulf....A TRUE ANGLO-SAXON HERO?

Unlike the Christians, instead of turning the other cheek, Beowulf raises the arm in triumph, displaying it for all to see. Beowulf initially fights for fame and then for bloodlust: “So fame/ Comes to the men who mean to win it/ And care for nothing else!”(610-612). Beowulf “rejoiced at the site” of both decapitated monsters (645). People from the Christian religion seek for peace, so there is no way that a Christian hero is going to go look for a fight for fame, even less for bloodlust.
